Mission and scope
The International Journal of Biological Markers (IJBM) publishes peer-reviewed original research and critical reviews primarily focused on cancer biomarkers in solid tumors affecting the adult population.

IJBM targets advanced topics regarding the application of biomarkers for risk assessment in healthy subjects, screening and early diagnosis of cancer, prognostic assessment, and monitoring and prediction of the response of cancer patients to different treatments. The journal is also interested in the publication of studies bridging the gap between basic knowledge and clinical application of biomarkers.

In addition, IJBM focuses on transversal research areas which represent the network of knowledge and skills that facilitate translational research into biomarkers. Paradigmatic examples include evidence-based medicine, biobanking science, biostatistics, quality assurance, and method validation and standardization.
